SOLD
In light blue metallic with a dark blue velour interior.
Righthand drive.
A fabulous 505 GTi with a 2.2 litre, fuel injected engine and a five speed manual gearbox.
The car was sourced in New Zealand in 2018 by a well known Bentley and Rolls Royce specialist for his own use. He had tried to find one in the UK, but had got nowhere and spotted this GTi for sale. On arrival here it was fully serviced, the alloy wheels were refurbished and new tyres fitted.
The paintwork is excellent, save for some paint chips on the bonnet, and the bumpers and external trim are virtually unmarked. Inside the blue velour upholstery is superb with no wear, and the dashboard has no cracks which can be an issue on cars of this period.
It is superb underneath with no repairs or corrosion.
New Zealand 505s have better specification than Brit ones. This car has electric windows all round, power steering, heated seats, air conditioning (not tested), an electric sunroof and a Limited Slip Differential. A five speed manual gearbox is fitted.
The history file contains all the dealer books showing that it was delivered new in 1988 by LA Marque European in Auckland NZ, and a Maintenance Handbook stamped up to 24,304 miles in 1997. It was purchased in April 2000 with 32,000 miles on the clock and the new owner then kept a wonderful handwritten log of all the servicing and repairs up to 65,115 miles. It came to the UK at 72,000 miles and currently shows 77,494.
There are MOT certificates whilst in the UK and various bills, a registration document and the Peugeot Vehicle Identification Certificate which confirms the build date of 24.09.1987.
A 2.2 litre fuel injected engine is fitted and it runs and pulls well. The car is wonderfully comfortable and straightforward to drive. I love it!
