5 speed manualCar Description
SOLD
In red with a white hardtop and a black leather interior.
A fine early 'pull handle' MGB which has had the same owner since 1981. There is a nice little handwirtten note in the file confirming receipt of £80.00 for the purchase!
It was restored through the owner's college course in 1982 and then put into store as he worked all over Europe painting aeroplanes. He then treated it to a proper rebuild in 2005/6 and it still has beautiful bodywork with a deep shine to the paintwork and superb underside with no signs of any deterioration. It is a testament to the quality of the work carried out which was done by specialists that he had come to know during his career.
The B has an excellent specification for driving and using;
1,950cc fast road engine
Five speed gearbox from Hi-Gear Engineering
Spax shock absorbers front and rear
Stainless exhaust
Electronic igniton
Factory style hard top and a soft top
Chrome wire wheels
De-bumpered with MGOC front and rear valances
Further items include a Mota-lita steering wheel, the period radio has been updated for modern use, an electric engine fan, an uprated starter motor, a Hardi fuel pump, a top tinted windscreen, roll over hoops and seat belts, bonnet vents, a quick action petrol filler, and spot lights.
Finally, the seats were trimmed by a gent who was trimming a Gulf Stream Jet and had some beautiful Italian left over. This was done in exchange for repainting his car!
In the file there are lots of bills, a current V5C document with the original Kent registration and showing only two owners since 1963, and an Heritage Certificate.
The MGB has been built for touring and drives so well with some extra power and the five speed gearbox. It looks fantastic and is in lovely order throughout.
