This stunning factory TR5 was restored from the ground using a new chassis and has won multiple awards. The lengthy rebuild was fully documented with invoices, photographs and many articles in TR Action magazine.

Supplied new in Croydon, the TR stayed with its owner until 1989, and passed through a couple of hands awaiting restoration until a skilled enthusiast acquired it in 2004, and who embarked on a total, nut and bolt restoration to a very high standard, retaining most of the original body. Sadly the chassis was beyond saving.

The engine, gearbox and differential were rebuilt, the interior renewed and the trim and chrome restored or replaced.

A rare Surrey top is fitted, which includes the aluminium centre panel, as are an overdrive gearbox and chrome wire wheels.                                      Some light upgrades have been carried out including MX5 seats for comfort and safety which are trimmed in leather (the original seats, also fully trimmed, come with the car), polybushed suspension with a Revington telespcopic conversion to the rear, uprated front and rear anti-roll bars, and improved brakes with four pot calipers and vented discs.

The engine has an unleaded, gas flowed cylinder head and is fully balanced and is fitted with a Fast Road camshaft, alloy sump and a full stainless exhaust system along with an upgrade to the crank thrustwasher. The fuel injection has a Bosch pump and has been fully rebuilt.

A large history file accompanies the car which has many invoices, photographs and books in it along a Heritage Certificate confirming that the orginal engine is fitted, and a Triumph TR5 Workshop Manual. 

In oustanding condition throughout with beautiful paintwork, a detailed engine, a spotless interior and an excellent underside, this TR5 is a fine example.
