Supplied new on the 29th of March 1991 by Charles Clark Jaguar of Shrewsbury, this car is Number 165 of 280 XJS Le Mans built to celebrate Jaguar's Le Mans wins in 1988 and 1990.  The Le Mans Edition model features extra leather trim, Le Mans motifs to the headrests and kick plates, four headlights, a ‘Growler’ bonnet badge, 16” alloy wheels and a Le Mans boot badge. 

The engine is the 5.3 litre V12 unit with a three speed automatic gearbox.

The XJS has had only two owners since 2002 and has covered just six hundred miles since 2007. It has done 93,000 miles in total with a fully stamped Jaguar Service book up to 2002 with invoices in the file covering the last eighteen years and 12,000 miles. There are MOT certificates back to 1999 at 73,000 miles. The Dealer Pack in cream with 'Le Mans V12' embossed into the folder is present.

An invoice for £5,000 from a Jaguar specialist in December 2006 at 84,000 miles for engine, cooling and suspension work was followed by the car covering 8,000 miles during the next year. We have spoken to the then owner who tells us that they used the Jaguar every week but then started spending large amounts of time in the US and the car went in to storage. They decided, very reluctantly, to sell it in 2013 and it joined a household with other Jaguars. Again, it was garaged and cared for but did little mileage until we acquired it recently. It has covered very few miles since 2007 which is probably why it has remained so clean and correct.

The underside of the Jaguar is excellent, the bodywork has some chips and blemishes but is clean and sound, and it drives very well with a smooth powerful engine and excellent handling and brakes. 

A rare XJS in very good, mid-range condition.
