In Musk Green with Wild Boar Tex vinyl upholstery.
This beautiful Giulia is a rare Super Biscione version, of which only a handful were built in right hand drive form. 'Biscione' means 'snake' in Italian and was available as a more luxurious version of the Super model between 1969 and 1972/3. There are various detail differences including;
- sunken AR badge on the bootlid, stainless strip on the bonnet, snake badges on the C pillars, the first part of the headlining is black and the A pillar and roof channels have stainless strips. The instrument faces are green.
Giulias come with a 1,570cc twin cam engine with twin 40DCOE carburettors, a five speed gearbox and disc brakes all round making them a wonderful sporting saloon. The engine was rebuilt by specialist Ian Ellis 12,000 miles ago.
The car was supplied new to a company in Nottingham in April 1969 and has had five owners in the UK, the last one acquiring it in 2014. It appeared to be in excellent condition just requiring some light body repairs. Not surprisingly these turned out to be somewhat more involved than was first anticipated and resulted in a pretty comprensive lower body rebuild. The floor pans and main structure were found to be in very good shape. The sills were replaced, lower door skins were fitted along with wheel arch lip pieces and the paintwork was refreshed. The underside was stripped and retreated and the suspension and steering components were powder coated or renewed. The braking system received attention too. The wheels were refurbished and new tyres went on. The stainless trim was polished where necessary.
Inside, the seats were retrimmed in the correct material and new carpets were fitted. The instruments were stripped and cleaned along with the door furniture and lights.
The thick history file includes numerous invoices, details of ownership, handbooks, servicing bills, and MOTs back to 1992.
The owner has taken a lot time and care of the rebuild of this fine car and it looks superb. The drving experience is wonderful with excellent steering, brakes and suspension and the smooth, revvy twin cam engine pulling you along. There are no rattles and the Alfa feels taught and well planted.
A gorgeous bit of kit.
