Percival Motor Company is the realisation of a life-long dream for Simon Percival, the business owner.
Having worked in Solictors and Accountants offices, Simon soon realised that steering a desk was not for him.
He joined the Motor Industry and worked in various positions at a Main Agent until a fateful day in August 1998 when he walked into the MD’s office to announce his departure to start a Classic Car business. A very generous package was offered to stay but the lure of leather, chrome and petrol fumes proved too much.
We started in March 1999 in a small unit near Tenterden in Kent, The Garden of England. We out grew that very quickly and moved to our current location at Pye Corner and have continued to expand culminating in the taking over of the next door workshops a few years ago to maintain and care for Classic Cars.
The garage can best be described as rustic and ideally suits what we do here. There is a calm, enjoyable atmosphere here, no glass fronted showrooms, and visitors are constantly commenting on the quality and variety of our cars. Sadly, Peggy the Springer Spaniel is no longer here to welcome you, but Mabel the Springer will join us when she’s old enough.
We are only fifteen minutes from Junction 8 of the M20 motorway, forty minutes from the Channel Tunnel, and forty five minutes from Gatwick Airport and the Port of Dover. Headcorn station is ten minutes from here and the train takes just over an hour into Charing Cross Station.
It’s very pleasant down here. Please pop in or call and see what we can offer you.
We usually have about twenty immaculate cars with just the occasional vehicle for the enthusiast who likes to fettle their automobile. Many of our cars sell before being advertised nationally, so please keep an eye on the website for the latest arrivals.
We have sold countless very low mileage Classics including a Ford Capri with 3,000 miles, a Morris 1100 with 1,400 miles and an Alfa Romeo Alfetta with 8,000 miles. However our crowning glory is selling an Austin Maxi with 3,000 miles registered to a Swiss collector.
Many Sports Cars have passed though our hands including Lotus’s, Austin Healeys, TVRs and Porsches as well as MGs and Triumphs. Rovers, Mercedes, Jaguar and Ford saloons have joined us, again many with low mileages.
We also love something a little less mainstream and have had Gilberns, Lancias, an NSU, several Fiat Dino Coupes and a 1924 Palladium (look it up!)
We buy much of our stock but also offer an excellent consignment sale program.
We agree on a sum that we will return to you on sale of the car, take it in, prepare it to our normal fine standard and then sell it on your behalf.
Once sold, we quickly send you the pre-agreed figure by electronic transfer.
You empty your garage, don’t have to deal with timewasters and realise a higher value than you would on a straight trade purchase.
