The GTE was supplied new to Mrs. C. Sharpe of Wakefield on 08.08.1973 by Pennine Sports Car Centre. A Mr. Bowyer of Durham acquired the car in July 1976 at 26,000 miles, and kept he car until about 2010 when it passed to his son and then wife on his passing.

There is an amazing history file back to 1976 with a little red log book documenting mileage and maintenance which is backed up with invoices. The car was laid up in ’08 we think and then it received a lot of mechanical work in 2012/13. It received a new carpet throughout and a new headlining in 2019 and the interior is lovely. Recent work includes the fitting of uprated timing gear, a brake fettle and attention to the gear lever so that the gearchange is superb. With other items, this bill came to £4,700. Again, everything is invoiced.

The Scimitar has covered 96,000 and drives superbly. The care and attention it has received for many years has kept it in top condition. The chassis is excellent and shows little or no deterioration and the bodywork is superb with no crazing or cracking. The car has obviously been resprayed at some time and the finish is uniform and remains very smart. The bumpers must have been rechromed as these are very shiny.

 One family has owned the GTE since 1976. We sold it about eighteen months ago, and it has just returned as the owner has had a change of his motoring plans. It is in lovely order throughout.
