Owned from 2004 until 2020 by a motoring family, this smart 221 Amazon Estate has been nicely upgraded to make it  more usable and enjoyable. The original B18A engine now features a lightened flywheel, a Simoniz  Sport four branch manifold and a big bore Simoniz Sport exhaust, an uprated camshaft, a gas flowed stage 2 cylinder head with new valves and springs, lightened cam followers and lightweight pushrods, steel timing gears and twin HS6  1.75"carburettors which have been overhauled. This set up makes the engine more lively. A rev counter is now fitted to help keep an eye on things and the car has an alternator conversion. The Volvo has covered 3,000 miles since these upgrades.

The four speed gearbox has overdrive to make use of the performance.

The suspension has been Polybushed, IPD anti-roll bar kits are fitted front and rear and there are Bilstein shock absorbers all round. A brake servo is fitted because of the increase in performance and Carello spotlights and Cibie H4 headlamps improve the lighting no end.

Inside there are new carpets, seat belts front and rear and an ancient radio cassette player.

A lot of money has been spent this year bringing the Volvo back to life with new front floor pans, a replacement tail gate and front valance, a full service and brake work and attention to various other details. The MOT runs to July 2021.
