Land Rover Series 111 Pick Up for sale Sold

This delightful factory, Series 111, 88" Pick Up running the 2 1/4 litre petrol engine, was originally registered to a local farmer in 1979 and he kept it until 1987. It is believed that it was a cancelled export order which is why it is fitted with the unusual Tropical roof.

The second owners used it for a time and then put it in to store whilst they went on an around-the-world trip. We're told that they're still out there somewhere and that the service history is in storage awaiting their return! After eleven years, a local Land Rover specialist acquired it and carried out a light refurbishment which included work to the brakes, the cooling system, new road springs, new door tops and bottoms and door seals and a new canvas hood. They also replaced the rear crossmember and fitted seat belts.

The original chassis is retained.

A long term customer of ours bought the Land Rover in 2017 and has now decided to sell it because of an impending house move. He has had it serviced and the exhaust and battery replaced.  It remains in lovely, unmolested condition. The interior is appears original and has little or no wear and the footwells and bulkhead are excellent. All the switches still show their markings and everything works. The engine purrs sweetly and the Landie drives nicely on its slightly larger tyres. Free Wheeling Hubs are fitted along with an immobiliser, front spot lights, hazard warning lights and even a steering lock! Luxury on a Land Rover in 1979.
