HBL 725G was owned for many years by a long standing member of the Simitar Club who competed with it in hill climb events. Pictures of the car competing can be found on the interweb.
According to a note book that accompanies the history file, the Scimitar was used by Robin Rew in the 1975 Pomeroy Trophy at Silverstone and it then passed on to Mr. Byrne who kept it from 1975 until 2013. He has detailed the competitions that he took part in and the ongoing maintenance of the car.
The engine has big-valve cylinder heads, tubular manifolds and steel timing gear. It sounds great and pulls very well. The chassis is strong and the bodywork is very good with just minor blmishes to detract.
We have spent some time re-commissioning the GT and it now drives very well with strong brakes and plenty of grunt.
