Jaguar Mk11 3.8 for sale Sold

SOLD

In bright red with cream hide, red carpets and red seatbelts.

We believe that this striking Mk11 returned to the UK from South Africa in 2001 and was restored and upgraded in 2002. It was sold by Bonhams and acquired by the last owner in 2004. He intended to go rallying in the car and so had the engine overhauled from the crankshaft up by Kent High Performance, the Ferrari specialists. The best laid plans of mice and men and all that meant that the Jaguar never saw action. It has covered just over two thousand miles since the work was completed.

The car has been kept as part of a small collection and used sparingly, especially in the last four or five years. With that in mind, the owner sent it to Kent High Performance this summer for a thorough re-commission which came to £2,500. He also had the interior completely retrimmed with new leather, new carpets, repolished woodwork and new seat belts at not inconsiderable cost. All the work is invoiced.

The Jaguar is nicely upgraded. It has KCE hydraulic power steering, a Harvey-Bailey handling kit, a full stainless steel exhaust, Coopercraft brakes, upgraded shock absorbers and wide chrome wire wheels to go with the Coombs-style rear wheel arches. The engine has an electric fan and an Aldon Igniter ignition system and there is an alternator fitted to replace the dynamo. Inside there is a Motalita steering wheel, a Pioneer CD player, seat belts front and rear and the front seats are upgraded to XJ6 items with head restraints fitted, fully trimmed to match the rest of the striking interior.

Sounding wonderful and driving very sweetly, the Mk11 goes very well and stops and steers nicely. The underside of the body is clean and correct with no rot, and the bodywork has a few blemishes to stop the car from being immaculate which is reflected in the price.                                                             This does of course mean that you can enjoy the performance of the 3.8 and use the car without worrying too much if you acquire the odd stone chip!
