In two tone green with light green leather seats and new dark green carpets.
Officially called the Sunbeam Mk3 after 'Talbot' was dropped from the name 'Sunbeam Talbot 90' in 1955, this lovely '56 car is the last of the line and is fitted with a 2.2 litre, four cylinder engine in its most powerful form producing 80bhp.
It was ordered new with the optional extras of a radio, a heater and overdrive for the four speed gearbox.
In excellent condition throughout, it is believed that the very low mileage reading of just 40,000 is correct. There have been two long term owners in recent times who used the car sparingly and there are invoices and MOTs in the file going back to 1978 at 27,000 miles. The lightly worn seats and general lack of wear and tear also suggest little use. The underside of the car appears never to have been welded and the upper paintwork is original with the lower half being repainted about eight years ago.
Having been owned by a long term Talbot-Sunbeam enthusiast, this car has been maintained by a local classic car workshop who have a 90 of their own. Recent work includes a new clutch with adjustment to the column gearbox to suit, adjustment and greasing of the sunroof, and strip and light overhaul of the carburettor.
The Sunbeam had a full service fifty miles ago and the MOT is to September 2021.
It comes with both its original tool kits, Workshop manuals and its original handbook entitled 'The Supreme Sunbeam Mk111 Owner's Handbook'.
These Sunbeams are powerful for a mid-range saloon and ideal for touring with good handling and brakes.
