In 1990, an Englishman then working in the US, purchased this early MG TD and brought it home on his return to Blighty. In 1992 he commenced a detailed and thorough restoration from the bare chassis upwards to a superb standard, taking three years to complete the build.

Before leaving the States, the owner had managed to trace the history and ownership of the TD all the way back to 1953 when an invoice in the file shows that a Mr. Clarence Warwick of Owatonna, Minnesota purchased the car  from Pegg - Sona Motor Company and who took out a Safety Tested Used Car Warranty. There are papers and invoices for the car going all the way back.

The history details the restoration, subsequent MOTs and maintenance and a Workshop manual and a Handbook, and the wonderful back to virtually new.

The quality of the restoration was to virtually Concours standards and it was sold by our friends at Nutley Sports and Prestige for £20,000 in 2002. The current owner acquired the car fourteen years ago and it remains in fine, rustfree condition throughout with beautiful paintwork and excellent panel fit. It is also one the nicest driving T series MGs that we've had here with a smooth engine and 'box, fluid steering and brakes!
