This lovely Mk VI 4 1/4 litre Sports Saloon with a manual gearbox has been enjoyed by a local enthusiast for the last eight years who now feels it's time for a new owner to experience the pleasures of Bentley motoring.
The car was built in late 1949 and delivered to Bedfordshire. A green log book in the history shows that it spent time in the West Country during the Seventies and by the early 2000s it was in Surrey. It was restored in 2003/4 by Autobodies of Hampshire and Axtell of Surrey who were Rolls and Bentley people. This work included a full bodywork refurbishment, chromework and mechanical attention and a fully retrimmed interior with beautifully polished woodwork. The car retains its original engine which has covered 6,000 miles since being overhauled some time ago.
All the work is documented in the history file and there are MOT certificates going back to 2004 barring a short time that that the Bentley lived on the Isle of Man.
The factory sunroof works very nicely and electronic igniton is fitted to aid running. The four speed manual gearbox is straightforward to use and the brakes are very good.
This striking Bentley remains in excellent condition throughout.
